Asus Eeepc 1005 HA - Review
Note: As i promised on my post about Asus Netbook, today i will give a complete review about the Asus Seashell Eeepc 1005 HA, the computer my nephew bought.
One of the biggest problems you can have when you think of a pc that you are supposed to use while in a coffee house, a cab, a train or any other place is: how many hours can i work before my battery runs out of energy? Yes. Usually netbook's batteries can't hold for a great amount of time. So, if you are someone that must work in front of a mobile computer you can have some problems with the majority of netbooks. That doesn't happen though with the new Asus Seashell Eeepc 1005 HA. Amazingly, the 1005 HA can deliver as much as eight hours of runtime under normal usage in power saver mode with its six cell battery. Under heavy usage expect it to run at least six hour with continous net surfing over WiFi in full bright screen. As you can see, that is a quite good feature. And the 1005 HA has also another advantage. Its battery is removable which means you can carry in an extra battery if you still need some extra life out of your system.
Now that i explained the greatest quality of Asus Eeepc 1005 HA, i will give you more details about it's design. This netbook follows Asus' new line of computers, all inspired by in "Seashells". This means that the system looks wider at the back than in the front with its thickest part measuring at 1.4 inches.

Display and Graphics
The netbook has a 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel glossy display. It’s bright and displays colors well indoors, but looks like a mirror when used in bright sunlight. So, you can have minor problems if you intend to use your Asus outdoors (in really bright places).
As with many other netbooks, this system also comes with the same Intel GMA 950 graphics, so don’t expect to play games on this device (which is a normal think when you think about netbooks).
Performance (Processor, RAM, HD)
Like many other netbooks the Eee PC 1005 HA runs Windows XP Home Edition, has 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB hard drive. It has a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 CPU and the Intel Mobile 945GSE chipset with GMA 950 integrated graphics. Overall, it has not amazingly quickly but it has a pretty good performance, you don't need to worry about it.

Keyboard and Touchpad
The keyboard stretches itself from one end to the other to make a good use of the limited space available. While it’s not exactly a full sized keyboard, it does feature nice large keys that are comfortable to type on.
The sound
That is another strong point from Asus Eee PC 1005 HA. The sound system works pretty well and performs better than most of other netbook's speakers. It can produce good volume levels without much distortions. Using the headfones is probably the best option for audiophiles.
